Service Statement of Philosophy
The children enrolled and attending Little Oak Early Learning Centre are central to our philosophy, and as such, our philosophy is founded on supporting our caring educators in providing the children with the highest quality of care and learning which is provided in a warm, loving, nurturing and safe environment.
We work hard to create a community environment, where children feel a sense of belonging to our Little Oak family. Our aim is to build long lasting and authentic relationships and partnerships with families, our local community and our team.
Our philosophy and our curriculum are heavily influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach of early learning. This approach sees children as naturally curious and competent. Our educators set up activities that relate to the children's interests, this allows the children to follow their curiosity and engage in the activities while educators create educational programs that assist in learning and the development of the whole child.
Our mission is to ensure our children will:
• feel a sense of belonging
• receive the high quality care
• learn and grow in a safe, fun, respectful and loving environment
• learn to respect diversity and interact with children from all cultures and backgrounds
• learn to build social connections in a safe and respectful way
• have a fundamental understanding of the world around them
• develop skills that will assist in transition between early years care and primary school
